WHY GETTING SOMEONE'S NAME RIGHT IS IMPORTANT Spelling someone’s name correctly doesn't win you friends but mis-spelling their name doesn't help you at all. For the desk-top and lap-top user, Microsoft Word, Spellchecker will correct very few forenames and surnames; not even popular names names like 'Remington', which conjures up images of cowboy art, computers, shavers, and guns, are in Spellchecker's dictionary. For the commercial user there is even less support. However, getting the name right is a hygiene issue; people expect you to get it right; get it wrong and they will be disappointed and wonder if you care. More importantly, they won’t be concentrating on your message. E&TMI have established, for the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia, virtually the English speaking world, what the forenames and surnames are in that country and their relative usage. We have a corpus of 5 Billion forenames and surnames. These countries have absorbed immigrants from all parts of the world. You pay for WrightNAMES and download the file to your PC. Then, in MS Word, you go to "Options/Spelling & Grammar/Add", and add the downloaded file and that is it.
